Stay & Play Venues

Play sessions for parents, carers, multiples and their siblings
Our Thursday stay and play session is in Hedge End. It starts at 10am and finishes at 11:45am every Thursday.

Each session costs £2.50 for members and £3.00 for non members, per family, to cover venue and adult refreshment costs. You can also buy a pre-payment card which we will stamp each time you come.

Location and access

Our venue is Kings Community Church, Upper Northam Rd, Hedge End, Southampton, SO30 4BZ.

Craft activities at our Thursday group

We have a large range of toys, books and activities for toddlers, including slides and sandbox, along with a ‘baby safe’ area for the smaller ones with bouncers, mats and toys. There’s also a safe and enclosed outdoor area, fantastic for warm days.

The children enjoy crafts, puzzles and a story – we have a different theme each week, usually a popular picture book.

It is a great opportunity to mix with mums, dads and carers with multiples of all ages and have a chat over a cuppa and a biscuit (sometimes cakes too!)

Snack time

The children enjoy a snack together. Parents bring a contribution of snack food and we pool all the food together into a pic’n’mix of nibbles! If your children would like to take part, please bring along a healthy snack to add to the feast.

Changing and feeding

There is a disabled loo with a changing table, but if you would prefer to stay in the main room to change a nappy, so that you can stay with your other children, please feel free. Please take all nappies home.

There are toddler toilets attached to the main room.

Bottles and baby food can be warmed in the kitchen.

Coming for the first time, with multiple babies or toddlers? Feeling overwhelmed?!

We’ve all been there! If you are nervous about coming to the group, please contact us in advance and we can find you a ‘buddy’ to meet outside the club. If you are concerned about getting your children into the building, buggies, etc, please contact us and we will help you to work out the details! There is also a doorbell on the noticeboard outside of the church, which will call a committee member to come and meet you when you arrive and help you through any concerns you might have.
