Stay & Play Venues
Stay and Play Thursdays
Each session costs £2.00 for members and £2.50 for non members, per family, to cover venue and adult refreshment costs. You can also buy six sessions and get your seventh session free – purchase a pre-payment card which we will stamp each time you come.
Location and access
Our venue is Kings Community Church, Upper Northam Rd, Hedge End, Southampton, SO30 4BZ.
We have a large range of toys, books and activities for toddlers, including bikes and ride-ons, along with a ‘baby safe’ area for the smaller ones with bouncers, mats and toys.
The children enjoy crafts, puzzles and a story – we have a different theme each week, usually a popular picture book.
It is a great opportunity to mix with mums, dads and carers with multiples of all ages and have a chat over a cuppa and a biscuit (sometimes cakes too!)
There is easy bus access via the X9, X10 or X15 Xelabus services. Timetables are available here:
Bus stops are very close by either side of the community centre.
The children enjoy a snack together. Parents bring a contribution of snack food and we pool all the food together into a pic’n’mix of nibbles! If your children would like to take part, please bring along a healthy snack to add to the feast.
Changing and feeding
There is a disabled loo with a changing table, but if you would prefer to stay in the main room to change a nappy, so that you can stay with your other children, please feel free. Please take all nappies home.
Bottles and baby food can be warmed in the kitchen.
Coming for the first time, with multiple babies or toddlers? Feeling overwhelmed?!
We’ve all been there! If you are nervous about coming to the group, please contact us in advance and we can find you a ‘buddy’ to meet outside the club. If you are concerned about getting your children into the building, buggies, etc, please contact us and we will help you to work out the details!
Stay and Play Fridays
Play sessions are for parents, carers, multiples and their siblings
Our Friday Stay and Play session is on the first and third Friday of each month in Hardley. It starts at 10am and finishes at 11:30am.
